| These are beaded pens I made for friends and family for Christmas 2007. They're stitched in tubular peyote using #11 Delica seed beads. They can be removed once the pen runs dry and put on another of the same style. I didn't use a pattern; just free-formed the letters in the people's names as well as the hearts. The straight sides of the Delica beads, combined with the perfect way they nestle together, allows the pens to be held comfortably. It is exceedingly difficult to find pens with straight, tubular barrels these days! I had to settle for cheap-o ones from an office supply store and, once the beaded cover was applied, the pens' caps wouldn't go back on. Ah, well...they were fun to stitch, anyways! |
