| This is a necklace I made my mother-in-law for her 50th wedding anniversary. Each bead represents something significant in my parents-in-law's life. The 50 square beads represent the 50 years they have been married. The eight large red butterflies represent their eight children. The ten small red butterflies represent their ten grandchildren. The small gold butterfly represents the grandson who passed away as an infant. The three red ladybugs represent their three great-grandchildren. The two red stars at the bottom and the two gold stars at the top represent the two of them. The red heart at the bottom represents their love for each other and their family. I put the butterfly and ladybug beads in the order their children were born (from eldest to youngest, starting on the photo's left side) and then, within those families, when their grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born. The picture below this one shows the two pairs of matching earrings I made her plus another fun little pair that are supposed to look like wrapped hard candy (those were for Christmas). |
