This is a bookmark I made for my dear
friend, Phil, for Christmas 2007.  Yes,
that's the Mona Lisa...well, a bit of her,
at least!  (Phil and I have a standing joke
about Mona that goes back over 30
years.)

She's stitched in flat peyote using four
colors of #11 matte-finish Delica seed
beads.  (I know it looks like more than
four colors but one had an iridescent
finish.)

I found this pattern on the Bead and
Button Magazine website.  As of this
posting (2/15/08), it appears they are no
longer offering this as a free project
(originally it was supposed to be a
bracelet).  I can't remember the designer
off the top of my head...I'll have to look
around for the pattern I printed out;
when I find it I'll post her name here.

Mona's approximately an inch wide and
five or six inches long.
