 | | Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information, including the full name and shipping address of the addressee. | | | Foreign addresses must include the name of the city and state/province fully spelled out as well as any postal codes. Treasure Island Books cannot reasonably be held responsible for packages returned to us due to incorrect addresses provided by customers, nor can we reasonably be held responsible for delays in shipping due to the need of verifying addresses.
 | | Our shipping fees are subject to change without notice. We make every effort to keep this information up-to-date but there may be instances | | | when this is not immediately possible.
 | | We never charge a handling fee for books ordered via our website!
 | | Our shipping fees will be as close to the actual United States Postal Service (USPS) charge as possible. We have a 50-pound analog | | | postage scale which isn't always accurate.
 | | If it is less expensive for the customer that we ship a multiple order in two packages, we will do so.
 | | If the difference between what we charged you for shipping and the actual cost of shipping is less than $1.00, we will absorb the difference. | | | If it is $1.00 or more, we will contact you for your decision to send the necessary additional postage or cancel the order.
 | | Large and/or heavy books may require additional postage, especially if shipped via a method other than USPS Media Mail within the USA. In | | | our quote, we'll let you know if this is necessary. (We have tried to identify these books in their descriptions. If some are not, we apologize for any oversight.)
 | | If the difference between the cost of what we charged you for shipping is more than $1.00 than the actual cost to ship your package, we will | | | promptly refund you the difference.
 | | We include...at no additional charge to the customer...a USPS Delivery Confirmation tag on all USA shipments when the book's value is | | | $30.00 or more. We may include this on a situation-by-situation basis if we deem it necessary on books with a value less than $30.00.
 | | We will not ship books with a value of $50.00 or more without USPS insurance, which is at the buyer's expense. This cost will be included in | | | the shipping quote we provide you. If the USPS shipping method you choose does not allow insurance, you will be requested to choose another which does.
 | | The USPS offers limited extra services (e.g. Certificate of Mailing, insurance, et al) for foreign shipments. When ordering, please request | | | which services you wish and we'll verify if they are available. If they are not, we will suggest suitable alternative USPS extra services if applicable.
 | | We usually ship twice a week and often more.
 | | We typically ship via the United States Postal Service (USPS). If you require another shipping method, please notify us when you place your | | | order. All non-USPS shipping costs will be at the buyer's expense.
 | | ESTIMATED delivery times:
 | | Estimated by the USPS as follows (they do not guarantee these times):
 | | For domestic First Class Mail, one to five days (not including Alaska, Hawaii, USA possessions, and military addresses | | | such as APOs, FPOs, etc.)
 | | For domestic Media Mail, five to fourteen days (not including Alaska, Hawaii, USA possessions, and military addresses such | | | as APOs, FPOs, etc.).
 | | USPS often does not provide estimated delivery times via First Class Mail and Media Mail to Alaska, Hawaii, USA | | | possessions, and military addresses such as APOs, FPOs, etc.. Typically, we have seen such packages take between three and four weeks, and often more time.
 | | For domestic Priority Mail, one to six days (including Alaska, Hawaii, USA possessions, and military addresses such as | | | APOs, FPOs, etc.).
 | | For foreign First-Class Mail International (which replaced Economy Letter Post and Airmail Letter Post on May 14, | | | 2007), four to six weeks (28 to 42 days).
 | | For foreign Priority Mail International (which replaced Global Priority Mail, Economy Parcel Post, and Airmail Parcel | | | Post on May 14, 2007), six to ten days.
 | | We request customers wait for delivery:
 | | For domestic First Class Mail, one full week from shipment date.
 | | For domestic Media Mail, a full two weeks from shipment date.
 | | For domestic Priority Mail, one full week from shipment date.
 | | For foreign First-Class Mail International, a full six weeks from shipment date, with an additional full week after the | | | customer checks with their country's Customs Department to ascertain if their package has been held there for some reason.
 | | For foreign Priority Mail International, a full ten days, with an additional full week after the customer checks with their | | | country's Customs Department to ascertain if their package has been held there for some reason.
 | | Please allow extra time for delivery if your order was placed on or near a holiday, a weekend, or during the end-of-year holiday | | | rush.
 | | Please understand Treasure Island Books cannot reasonably be held responsible for any delays of a package caused by inclement weather, | | | the United States Postal Service (USPS), the postal system of any foreign country, the Customs Department of either the United States or any foreign country, any military authority (for those packages being shipped to military addresses...APOs, FPOs, etc.), or any legal authority such as a penitentiary staff. ALL packages may be subject to inspection or confiscation by a Customs Department, military personnel, or penitentiary staff for reasons of their own over which Treasure Island Books has no control.
 | | Treasure Island Books cannot reasonably be held responsible for any damage to a package caused by the Customs Department of either the | | | United States or any foreign country, any military authority (for those packages being shipped to military addresses...APOs, FPOs, etc.), or any legal authority such as a penitentiary staff. ALL packages may be subject to inspection or confiscation by a Customs Department, military personnel, or penitentiary staff for reasons of their own over which Treasure Island Books has no control.
 | | We cannot ship books without full payment. We regret there can be no exceptions to this.
 | | PLEASE NOTE: The clock on the estimated delivery time starts when full payment is received; not when your order is placed.
 | | All orders shipped to foreign countries are subject to the destination country's Customs rules. You will be provided with the United States | | | Customs form identification number in our order confirmation email. If your package has not arrived within the estimated time allowed, you are responsible for contacting your country's Customs Department. Please do this BEFORE contacting us!
 | | IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING CUSTOMS FORMS: We recite the book title on the customs form. In addition, the correct value of the | | | item is required on customs forms as it helps determine the proper duties and taxes, and whether they should be applied. We always provides the purchase price (not including shipping fees) on customs forms. The USPS advises that some countries will soon begin taking steps to address this issue, such as levying fines on the addressee (the buyer) when the declared value is determined to be lower than the invoice.
 | | Foreign customers are 100% responsible for any customs, import, or other fees or taxes which they may be assessed on their purchase. We | | | mark "Merchandise" or "Other" on the U. S. Customs form to clearly indicate the contents is not a gift. Treasure Island Books cannot reasonably be held responsible for any customs, import, or other fees or taxes assessed in error by any foreign country's Customs department or taxing agencies.
 | | Please note that we recite the purchase price of the book on our invoice/shipping manifest unless otherwise requested and you may use this | | | as proof if the book's value is questioned. However, if you've requested the purchase price be eliminated from the invoice/shipping manifest so that it is simply a shipping manifest, you or whomever will be receiving the book may be required to provide proof of the book's value. In such a case, the original sales information we provided you via email should suffice. Please refer to our Terms of Sale, "Invoicing," for more information.
 | | The USPS requires all packages addressed to military addresses (APOs, FPOs, etc.) to be accompanied by a USA Customs form.
 | | When we ship books to incarcerated customers, we include a written disclaimer about potential delay, damage and/or confiscation (noted | | | above) as well as full order information. In addition, this disclaimer will be found in our order acknowledgement email.
 | | On May 14, 2007 and again on May 12, 2008, the USPS dramatically overhauled many of their rules and regulations as well as raised their | | | postage rates. We have attempted to bring ourselves up-to-date with these but cannot be expected to be well-versed on or even aware of every detail. Please understand that if any USPS rule is overlooked or misinterpreted by us it is not intentional.
